Murga is a form of popular musical theatre performed primarily in Montevideo, Uruguay during the Carnival season. Es Lo Que Hay (meaning: It's What There Is) is born in Sydney's South Western Suburb of Fairfield, with its extravagant costumes and wild face paint, these would be Pierrot's sing their dreams, fears and values. Comprising of one flamboyant stage director on guitar, a choir of 13 and a percussion trio Es Lo Que Hay's criticism, principle ingredient of the Uruguayan Murga, focuses on national issues and their local community. Unafraid to strike back, this Young Murga will pack a punch in the eyes of any spectator and do so filled with harmonies, joy, colours, movement, nostalgia, satire and a percussion trio that will blow your mind.
